The Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises reported that the State has received the projected amount of grant aid for 2026. According to the Fiscal Development Report, MVR 393.6 million had been received as grant aid as of June 4, exceeding the annual estimate of MVR 373.6 million by 5.3%. Total State revenue and grants stood at MVR 19.1 billion by June 4, an increase of 10.1% compared to MVR 17.3 billion in the same period last year. Tax collections increased 12.4% to MVR 14.8 billion, accounting for 78% of total revenue. Growth was driven by higher Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) and General GST collections.
