Work to Resume on Malé Industrial Village: MPL CEO
Work on the Malé Industrial Village will resume according to previous plans, announced Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) CEO Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim. The industrial zone, started in 2016 under then Minister Mohamed Muizzu, stalled after the 2018 administration change. The 4.5-hectare reclaimed land currently houses WAMCO waste operations, a fuel shed, and STO's ready-mix plant, but is largely unplanned and littered. Future plans include storage, garages, and workshops. Funding and contractor search are underway, with the 2018 contractor ready to assist.
