Seaplane Check-In Moves to VIA’s New Terminal 1

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has officially started seaplane check-in services at Terminal 1 of Velana International Airport, a phased rollout of the new international terminal. The check-in counters, located adjacent to arrivals, are fully air-conditioned and designed for passenger comfort. MACL aims to improve convenience for visitors transferring to resort islands. Terminal 1 became operational in July 2025, but seaplane check-in remained at the old terminal until now.
