Presidential Transition: Ibrahim Mohamed Solih Vacates Mulee-aage

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed vacated the official presidential residence, Mulee-aage, following Dr Mohamed Muizzu's victory in the September presidential election. Muizzu, representing the PPM-PNC coalition, is to be sworn in on 17 November. Mulee-aage, built over a century ago during Sultan Mohamed Shamshudheen's reign, has housed many leaders. Solih and his wife moved in on 30 November 2018 after his inauguration. They have relocated to the First Lady's family home in Maafannu, Male'. The residence was also used for political purposes by former presidents Abdulla Yameen and Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, and later by Mohamed Nasheed, who chose it over the newer Theemuge residence.
