Government Inaugurates Hankede Tourism Project

The Hankede Integrated Tourism Development Project in Addu City was inaugurated. Contracted to China's National Electrical Engineering Company (CNEEC) for US$142.9 million, the contract was signed on 30 March 2023. Home Minister Ali Ihusaan, MFMC Managing Director Ahmed Nazim Abubakr, and a CNEEC representative inaugurated the project. The project will accommodate 2,082 tourists, target 25,000 annually, and create 1,500 jobs in Addu City. MFMC will manage land acquisition and leasing.
