Chinese tourist arrivals to the Maldives are expected to surpass 50,000 in February 2024, following China becoming the largest tourist market. As of 21 February, 49,769 Chinese tourists had arrived. Total tourist arrivals as of early February were 349,612, a 16.3% increase year-on-year. Italy was the second largest market with 33,552 tourists, and Russia third with 33,213.
