Agriculture Ministry, SDFC Initiate MVR 15 Million Grant Scheme for Farmers
The Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare and SME Development Finance Corporation Pvt Ltd (SDFC) signed an agreement on 13 March 2024 to launch a matching grant scheme worth MVR 15,188,700 for farmers under the Maldives Agribusiness Program (MAP), in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The 'Agribusiness Matching Grant Programme' targets farmers and SMEs on 26 islands in Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani atolls. Grants support installation of hydroponics systems in Agricultural Development greenhouses. Application details will be announced later.
