The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) hosted a High-Level Dialogue and Stakeholder Engagement Workshop on 30 March 2026 at Meerumaa Events Hall, Malé, in collaboration with the Climate Change Department of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment. The workshop, supported by SOFF and GCF, focused on strengthening observation systems and multi-hazard early warning services. Participants included representatives from government, UNEP, FMI, RIMES, NDMA, MRC, and CAM. Planned interventions under SOFF include upgrading four surface stations, installing one new station, and upgrading one upper-air station. The TRACT project aims to enhance early warning capabilities. MMS remains committed to improving climate services for community resilience.
