MIFCO CEO Farhath resigns
Farhath Shaheer resigned as CEO of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) on April 12, 2026. He was appointed in March 2025, succeeding the first foreign CEO, Dr Vitaly Lyubimov, who was dismissed. Farhath previously served as Vice Chief of Defence Force of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) during the 2012 protests that forced President Mohamed Nasheed's resignation, and as CEO of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital under President Abdulla Yameen's administration.
