Article 109(f) of the Constitution of Maldives disqualifies candidates for the presidency who have been convicted of a criminal offense with a sentence exceeding 12 months, unless three years have passed since release or pardon. It was cited by the Elections Commission and Supreme Court to bar former President Abdulla Yameen from the 2023 presidential election.
