Sheikh Ismail Mohamed

Recipient of honorary doctorate for 50 years of service to Arabic and Islamic education

Sheikh Ismail Mohamed (Thoiba Sheikh) was a prominent Maldivian Islamic scholar, first graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah from the Maldives, recipient of the National Award of Honour and an honorary doctorate from the Islamic University of Maldives, founder of Thoiba School, and author of about 40 religious books. He passed away at age 85.
