Ministry signs agreement with MTCC to build a Lacquer and Craftsmanship Training Centre in Thulhaadhoo
The Ministry of Economic Development & Trade and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) signed an agreement to build a Lacquer and Craftsmanship Training Centre in Baa atoll Thulhaadhoo. The agreement was signed by State Minister Abdulla Siyaz and MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudee. The initiative supports President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's vision to advance the creative economy and revive Maldivian heritage. The centre will include spaces for training in lacquer, handicraft, weaving, and woodworking. The agreement was signed during the President's tour of Baa Atoll, following a Cabinet decision to establish a national-level centre for lacquer and Maldivian crafts.
