AZAL to Begin Twice-Weekly Direct Flights Between Azerbaijan and Maldives

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) will start twice-weekly direct flights from Baku to Velana International Airport (VIA) in Maldives, timed with peak tourism season. The Ministry of Tourism expects increased arrivals from Azerbaijan. Currently, 42 airlines from 22 countries serve the Maldives, with 1.1 million tourists visiting between January and July.

Speaker Aslam Highlights Climate Action at APA Plenary Session

Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Aslam addressed the 14th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Baku, Azerbaijan, concluding on 24 February. He noted challenges in accessing affordable climate finance and delays in fund disbursement, and called for a ceasefire in Gaza.
