Maldivian SMEs Take Global Leap with Alibaba Partnership
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, in collaboration with the Business Centre Corporation (BCC) and Alibaba.com, hosted a webinar titled "From Maldives to Global Markets – Unlocking E-Commerce with Alibaba" at Barcelo Nasandhura. The event aimed to empower Maldivian SMEs to expand into international e-commerce. It provided insights into the Alibaba ecosystem and tools to enhance global market presence, supporting entrepreneurs in establishing seller accounts on international platforms. Sessions covered B2B cross-border e-commerce trends, platform functionalities, and a live demonstration. Minister Mohamed Saeed highlighted that the initiative leverages the China-Maldives Free Trade Agreement and Alibaba's global reach to carry Maldivian creativity worldwide.
