Maldives, Burundi Sign Visa Waiver Agreement

The Maldives and Burundi signed a visa waiver agreement allowing visa exemption for single or multiple entry, exit, or transit of nationals for 30 days. The agreement was signed by Thilmeeza Hussain, Permanent Representative of Maldives to the UN, and Zéphyrin Maniratanga, Permanent Representative of Burundi to the UN, at the Permanent Mission of Maldives to the US in New York. Thilmeeza expressed appreciation to Burundi for commitment to reinforcing bilateral relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed hope that the agreement would increase people-to-people engagement. Burundi's Permanent Secretary expressed keen interest in strengthening ties.
