CWEIC to Establish Maldives Office; Appoints Janah Local Chair
The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) will establish a Hub Office in the Maldives, appointing Mohamed Ali Janah as Country Chair. Janah also serves as Principal Advisor to the President on Trade and Investment. The office aims to facilitate Commonwealth businesses exploring opportunities in the Maldives and support Maldivian businesses in Commonwealth markets. Lord Marland, CWEIC Chairman, visited Maldives in February, meeting President Muizzu. The Commonwealth Business Forum in Samoa in October 2024 is expected to provide further opportunities.
