Meekail alleges irregularities in MDP chairperson election
Galolhu South MP Meekail Ahmed Naseem alleged irregularities in the ongoing MDP chairperson election, claiming that some members intending to vote for him were removed from voters' lists and that parts of the process were not fair. Speaking after casting his vote at Galolhu Madharusa, Meekail said data available to his campaign indicated he was leading despite issues. He cited disruptions: in GDh. Fiyoari, a ballot box was broken open after some voters found their names missing; in F. Feeali, voting was suspended after the ballot box was removed. Meekail alleged that his representatives were denied access passes, some voters were asked to cast ballots into an opened box, and names were removed from lists. He called on the party's Elections Committee to ensure a free and fair election.
