MTCC Breaks Ground on MVR 39M Harbor Upgrade in Fiyoaree

MTCC has launched a harbor upgrade project in Fiyoaree, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, worth MVR 38.91 million. The project includes dredging of 45,050 cubic meters total, construction of a 281-meter revetment, 155-meter groyne, and 166-meter L-section quay wall, plus pavement and street lighting. The ceremony was attended by Minister Dr. Abdulla Muthalib, MTCC CEO Adam Azim, and MP Ashraf Rasheed. The upgrade aims to improve marine access and support the local economy, especially farming and transport sectors. Fiyoaree has about 740 residents and is an agricultural hub.

Government Set to Complete Canned Tuna Distribution by Monday

The Ministry of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works announced that the government will complete canned tuna distribution under the 'Roadha Hadhiyaa' programme by Monday. Government to Vet Thai Company Before Handing Over Thinadhoo Airport Project: Infrastructure Ministry

The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure clarified that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with Thailand's Pan Pacific Company Limited for developing an international airport at Thinadhoo Island, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
