Third Shipment of Military Drones Lands at Gan
A third shipment of military drones arrived at Gan International Airport in Addu Atoll early Saturday, delivered by an Air Master Boeing 737-8F2 from Sharjah with a stop in Tekirdağ, Turkey. The drones are Bayraktar Akıncı and TB2 models from Baykar Technologies. The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) purchased three Akıncı drones and a ground control unit for about US$37 million from the contingency budget. A drone base is being developed at Gan, expected to be inaugurated during President Muizzu's visit to Addu City in the final 10 days of the month.
