US presses India over Iran blockade violations after New Delhi protests deadly strikes
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar that violations of the US blockade of Iranian ports will not be tolerated. Jaishankar protested US attacks in the Gulf that killed three Indian nationals. US Central Command disabled three tankers for trying to transport Iranian oil: Palau-flagged MT Marivex (struck June 8) and MT Settebello (struck June 10, killed three Indian sailors), and a Guinea-Bissau-flagged tanker (struck June 11). Omani authorities rescued 24 sailors from MT Settebello and 20 from the Guinea-Bissau tanker.
