Container falls during cargo clearance, causing major damage

A container fell during cargo clearance operations at HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Port today, causing extensive damage. A police media official stated that a report was received around 10:30 AM indicating that while lifting a container, the crane's cable snapped, causing the container to fall onto a boat. No individuals sustained injuries. Both the container and the boat sustained severe damage, including cracked parts of the boat and damaged goods inside the container. Damages are estimated to amount to approximately MVR 1 million. The circumstances are currently being investigated.
