Presidential Advisor Granted Prime Hulhumalé Land for Mall Development
Mohamed Ali Janah, Principal Advisor to President Muizzu on Trade and Investment, was allocated approximately 100,000 square feet of land in Hulhumalé Phase One by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). The land, near Ooredoo Building and Central Park, is designated for an upscale shopping mall with green spaces. Janah acquired the land through a joint venture with HDC, avoiding a large fee. The development is planned with Qatari company Estithmar. The allocation has sparked public outrage over accusations of favoritism and corruption.
