RACL Takes Over Operations at Kadhdhoo Airport, Becomes Largest Operator in Maldives
The Regional Airport Company Ltd. (RACL) has taken over operations at Kadhdhoo Airport in Laamu Atoll, making it the largest airport operator in the Maldives with eight airports. The government transferred the airport's shares to RACL on Tuesday. Kadhdhoo Airport, one of the first regional airports, was previously operated by Kadhdhoo Airport Company Ltd. (KACL). This move aligns with President Mohamed Muizzu's administration's plans to upgrade the airport to international standards. A memorandum of understanding was signed with China CAMC Engineering Company Limited (CAMCE) on 11 April. RACL has committed to enhancing services at all airports under its management.
