Ukraine requests emergency UN Security Council meeting after Russia's attacks
Ukraine has requested an emergency UN Security Council meeting after heavy Russian attacks caused extensive damage, including a strike on the Dormition Cathedral in the Pechersk Lavra monastery complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha initiated responses through OSCE, Council of Europe, and UNESCO. The attacks targeted Kiev, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and other cities, killing civilians and wounding children. Russia claimed the damage was caused by a Ukrainian Patriot missile. At least 5 people were killed and 25 injured.
