Maldives Signs Coastal Conservation Consultancy Deal with Nippon Koei

The Ministry of Tourism and Environment signed a consultancy agreement with Nippon Koei Co., Ltd for coastal conservation under the 'Building Climate Resilient Safer Islands in the Maldives' project, implemented with JICA and funded by GCF and JICA. Civil works are planned for Addu City Meedhoo, Laamu Fonadhoo, Laamu Gan, and Laamu Isdhoo. The project includes drafting a national coastal protection policy and island-level plans.
