Tree Top Hospital to host health camp in Laamu Gan

Appointments must be made by June 17 via Gan Regional Hospital. The camp will also feature health screenings, information sessions, a training program for nurses at Gan Regional Hospital, and an educational session for students in Gan. Tree Top Hospital aims to reduce the need for Maldivians to travel abroad for medical treatment and lower healthcare costs.

Maldives Signs Coastal Conservation Consultancy Deal with Nippon Koei

The Ministry of Tourism and Environment signed a consultancy agreement with Nippon Koei Co., Ltd for coastal conservation under the 'Building Climate Resilient Safer Islands in the Maldives' project, implemented with JICA and funded by GCF and JICA. Civil works are planned for Addu City Meedhoo, Laamu Fonadhoo, Laamu Gan, and Laamu Isdhoo. The project includes drafting a national coastal protection policy and island-level plans. Nippon Koei will finalize designs, conduct EIAs, and train ministry staff. Detailed designs expected in six months; construction to begin next year.
