North Korea-Backed Hackers Target Cryptocurrency Companies
North Korean-backed hacking group Labyrinth Chollima infiltrated US IT management company JumpCloud in late June, using it to target cryptocurrency companies. JumpCloud confirmed the hack, attributing it to a sophisticated nation-state actor. CrowdStrike identified the group, known for stealing $1.7 billion in cryptocurrency. The breach is an example of a supply chain attack. It remains unclear if any digital currency was stolen. SentinelOne researcher Tom Hegel noted North Korea's growing cyber expertise.
