Initial training launched for third batch of National Service

The Initial Training for the third batch of the National Service was launched at Maafilaafushi Composite Training Centre, inaugurated by Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy. A total of 352 cadets (288 males, 64 females) from 112 islands are participating in the 15-week programme. Training includes character development, first aid, firefighting, self-defence, and basic military orientation. Graduates will receive multiple certifications. The programme is part of President Muizzu's initiative to build a disciplined youth population with Islamic values.

President congratulates first national servicemen joining MNDF

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu congratulated the first batch of national servicemen joining MNDF. 344 students graduated from the National Service Programme, with 137 enlisting in MNDF after completing the 72nd Basic Training Course. They hailed from 70 islands across 20 atolls. The training at MNDF Composite Training Centre in Maafilaafushi covers nationalism, citizenship, religious education, ethics, leadership, and physical fitness. The third batch is underway with 352 students. 1,785 students applied in total.

President Muizzu Unveils National Service to Empower Maldivian Youth

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the Maldives National Service at the Composite Training Centre (CTC) in Maafilaafushi. He presented the National Service Flag, symbolizing the launch. In his keynote, he emphasized the importance of cultivating a patriotic, principled, and capable younger generation, instilling Islamic values and national identity. The programme aims to foster responsible citizens who are physically fit, mentally resilient, and spiritually grounded. The initial three-month training includes modules on national identity, civic responsibility, education, leadership, language proficiency, physical conditioning, discipline, first aid, firefighting, and self-defence. Participants may join the MNDF or Maldives Police Service upon completion. The government plans to introduce dedicated legislation for the initiative, including participant allowances.
