The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development eased the flat application process for guardians of persons with disabilities under the Housing for All policy. Guardians registered with the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) can now apply without additional documents. The change applies to those unable to apply independently and applicants under 18. Applications are open until June 15.

The Ministry of Housing announced that parents of persons with disabilities do not need to submit disability documentation when applying for flats under a new amendment. The amendment allows parents registered with Aasandha/NSPA to apply until the 15th of the month. The residency requirement for disabled persons was reduced from 15 years to 5 years in the Malé area. A total of 7,900 flats and 15,000 land plots are allocated. Housing Minister Dr. Abdulla Muththalib noted 37,000 forms on the portal, predicting a record number of applicants.
