Solar Panels on Bridge Highway to Generate Electricity in August
The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology announced that solar panels along the Male'-Hulhumale' highway will begin generating electricity in August. The installation is part of the ASPIRE project with the World Bank. The 5.6 MW system will be connected to Stelco's grid, reducing diesel reliance. Thailand's Ensys Co Ltd is the contractor. Electricity will be sold at 10.09 US cents per unit.
