Iran will hold funeral ceremonies for slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei from July 4 to July 9, 2026. The ceremonies include a farewell in Tehran on July 4-5, funeral in Tehran on July 6, in Qom on July 7, and burial at Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad on July 9 following a ceremony on July 8. Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli strikes that began on February 28, 2026, which also killed several senior Iranian officials. A Pakistan-brokered ceasefire took effect on April 8.
