“Maldives Stands with India Against Terrorism” Declares FM Khaleel in New Delhi Meeting with Jaishankar
Maldives Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel reaffirmed support for India against terrorism during the second India-Maldives High-Level Core Group (HLCG) meeting in New Delhi on May 26, 2025. He condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 that killed 26 people. The meeting focused on implementing the India-Maldives Vision Document on Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership, adopted during President Mohamed Muizzu's October 2024 visit. Dr. Khaleel also met India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, expressing gratitude for emergency financial assistance. Both sides agreed to hold the third HLCG meeting in Malé at a mutually convenient date.
