Philippines Ambassador presents credentials to President

Philippines' Non-Resident Ambassador to the Maldives, Nina P. Cainglet, presented her credentials to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, reaffirming commitment to strengthen bilateral relations. The credential ceremony was held at the President's Office. They discussed areas of mutual interest, and the Ambassador expressed appreciation for hospitality to Filipino nationals in Maldives. Diplomatic relations were established on 12 July 1974. The ambassador was accorded a traditional Haiykolhu procession accompanied by the MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band.

Philippines SEC Moves to Block Access to Binance

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines has begun restricting access to Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, because it lacks registration and licenses. Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao resigned after pleading guilty to violating U.S. anti-money laundering laws. The block will be implemented within three months from 28 November. SEC also requested Google and Meta to ban Binance advertisements.
