One-Sided Election in Cambodia: PM Warns Ballot Spoilers
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen warned voters who spoiled ballots to turn themselves in or face legal consequences after a one-sided election. His party won 120 seats; a royalist party got 5. The main opposition Candlelight Party was disqualified. Spoiled ballots were a form of protest. Hun Sen is expected to hand over power to his son Hun Manet. Western countries did not send observers. Human Rights Watch expressed concern.
