Pakistani police mistakenly open fire on Australian family, killing child
Pakistani police mistakenly shot and killed a 10-year-old Australian girl, Hania, and wounded her father and brother in Punjab province. The incident occurred when officers responding to a robbery exchanged fire with suspects who were holding the family's car at gunpoint. In the chaos, an officer mistakenly assessed that suspects were fleeing in the victims' vehicle and fired. The officer was arrested and remanded. Australian PM Anthony Albanese called for transparency and a proper investigation. The family from Perth was visiting relatives. Punjab Police said they are conducting a thorough investigation.
