Government Will Not Relocate Islanders Without Majority Support, Says President Muizzu
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu pledged that population consolidation efforts will only proceed with full community backing. During a meeting in Raiymandhoo, he stated that relocation would only be considered if at least 80% of an island's population agrees. He assured that if Raiymandhoo opts for relocation, the government would initiate a housing project on the host island. The remarks come amid national discussions on sustainable development and equitable access to public services.
