ACC Investigating Ras Malé Project
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an investigation into the Ras Malé project, the largest project of the Mohamed Muizzu administration, over corruption allegations. The investigation, confirmed by ACC Media Officer Hassan Manik, is in preliminary stages and will look into allegations of corruption in the project's implementation. The main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) alleged MVR70 billion corruption in the dredging component, while former President Abdullah Yameen also expressed concerns. The project involves reclaiming 1,153 hectares at Fushidiggarufalhu, with contractor CMCC to be compensated with 70 hectares of land from Hulhumalé and Ras Malé.
