Rasfannu beach reopens after major renovation
Rasfannu artificial beach in Male' has officially reopened after renovation works that began in April. The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development handed over the project to MTCC and MWSC. Improvements include a new drainage system, replacement of embankments with modern culverts, erosion control, enhanced water flow, and public facilities like toilets, fountains, and lockers. Originally opened in 2016 under Dr Mohamed Muizzu as Housing Minister, the beach now offers benches, barbecue areas, a fishing hut, and parking. The ministry confirmed the renovated area is open to the public.
