Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ahmed Nazim met Governor of Shandong Province Zhou Naixiang on October 24, 2024, during his visit to China for the Global Ocean Development Forum on Marine Environmental Protection. They discussed global cooperation for marine protection. The forum, held on October 24-25, is organized annually by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Natural Resources of China. Minister of Fisheries Ahmed Shiyam and other officials accompanied Nazim.
