Job dismissals rise as Muizzu's popularity declines
A report by Leevaan Ali Nasir for Adhadhu details a rise in job dismissals and transfers as President Muizzu's popularity declines. Despite campaign promises to eliminate politicized dismissals, state-owned enterprises are suspending, dismissing, and transferring employees to remote islands for supporting the opposition MDP. Examples include three employees in Villingili and four in Maamendhoo suspended after welcoming former President Nasheed, an MTCC employee transferred from Faresmaathoda to Baarah, and multiple dismissals in Thinadhoo and Naifaru. The MDP claims a revived 'culture of fear.' Abdulla Sodiq, the MDP by-election winner, reported 10 dismissals of his campaign supporters.
