Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital performs successful gynaecological surgery

Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo City performed its first-ever gynaecological surgery during a medical camp jointly organized by the Ministry of Health, Family and Social Affairs and the hospital. A team of 10 specialist doctors participated. The laparoscopic surgery removed a cyst from the left ovary and a fibroma from the fallopian tube, led by Dr Ubaidh Abdullah. Hospital officials described the achievement as a significant step forward in expanding healthcare services.

Nation Mourns Loss of the ‘Spirit of Thinadhoo’

Thinadhoo City and the nation mourn the loss of Mariyam Didi, known as Mariyam Dha'tha, a beloved blind singer who passed away at 73 on Sunday evening. Known for her hit song 'Fenmeeru Reethi Rashey Mee, Roohuvany Thinadhoogaey' and collaborations with poet Abdulla Afeef, she received the National Award for Public Service in 1982. Thinadhoo Council President Saud Ali confirmed her death, describing it as a great loss. Despite not being wealthy, she held the nation's respect and love. She is survived by a daughter.
