US-Iran memorandum 'formally finalised' after Trump and Pezeshkian sign the deal
US President Donald Trump announced that he signed the Iran memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at ending the war, stating he signed it at Versailles. Iran confirmed that a 14-point MOU with the US had been formally finalised after both presidents signed. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said the 'Islamabad memorandum' became fully official. The agreement will be signed digitally, and negotiations under the memorandum will focus exclusively on nuclear issues and sanctions relief. Talks will last up to 60 days with possible extension. US commitments regarding lifting the naval blockade have effectively begun after Israeli attacks on Beirut and Iranian threats. Iranian vessels have entered and exited ports without problems. Iran's commitments regarding the Strait of Hormuz will begin after signing and implementation. A US official confirmed the MOU was signed on Wednesday. Trump personally signed a copy during a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles.
