Extreme Weather Grips Scandinavia and Western Europe
Scandinavia and Western Europe are experiencing extreme cold, snowstorms, and torrential rains. Temperatures in the Nordic region have dropped below -40°C, with Sweden recording -43.6°C, the lowest January temperature in Western Europe in 25 years. Storm Henk has caused destruction in Britain, Ireland, and the Netherlands, resulting in one fatality in Britain. Over 300 flood warnings are in place in England and Wales, with more than 10,000 homes without power. In France, heavy rains have led to evacuations and power outages. Emergency workers from multiple countries have been mobilized. Parts of Germany are also dealing with flooding.
