China’s Xizang Autonomous Region Donates 1,500 Tonnes of Mineral Water to Maldives
China's Xizang Autonomous Region donated 1,500 tonnes of mineral water to the Maldives to support island communities during water shortages. The handover was made by Chinese Ambassador Wang Lixin and received by Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer. Zameer expressed gratitude and noted that providing safe drinking water is a high priority. The water, valued at approximately MVR 21.3 million, will be supplied to outer islands during the dry season. The donation was pledged during a November 2023 visit by the Chairman of Xizang Autonomous Region.
