State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) signed an MoU with Chinese company TBEA Group to conduct preliminary studies for establishing a 150MW dual-fuel power plant in Thilafushi. The plant will use oil and gas. A high-capacity transmission line will be installed along the Thila Male' Bridge to meet energy demands in Male' City, Hulhumale', Villimale', Gulhifalhu, and Thilafushi.
