Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, said that through Alibaba.com, access is available from the Maldives to markets of over 200 countries worldwide, representing 40 million active buyers. In a post on X, he said many Maldivian entrepreneurs participated in consultations with Alibaba.com to facilitate free trade opportunities. He stated that many interested parties have been identified and agreed to work together in listing Maldivian products. The Minister also said that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that barriers to opening seller accounts on such platforms will be resolved.
