Shakeel's name sent to Parliament for Elections Commission vacancy

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has forwarded the name of Mohamed Shakeel, Managing Director of Hajj Corporation, to Parliament for appointment to a vacant position on the Elections Commission. The vacancy arose after former EC Chairperson Mohamed Zahid resigned on 1 May. Shakeel previously served as an EC member under former President Abdulla Yameen.
