Hithadhoo Port workers dismissed for campaigning for Sodiq
Two employees of Hithadhoo Port Limited (HPL) were dismissed for campaigning for Abdulla Sodiq, winner of the Hithadhoo North by-election. Mohamed Arif (Senior Security Officer, 6.5 years service) and Ahmed Shiruhan (Assistant Manager, 4.5 years) were terminated citing organizational reforms and a PCB circular to reduce staff by 33% due to economic difficulties from the Iran conflict. Arif claims no assessment was conducted. Other Sodiq campaigners have also faced action, including Mahfooz Husnee dismissed from STELCO.
