The ruling People's National Congress (PNC) is heading towards a landslide victory in the Maldives parliamentary elections, leading in 62 out of 93 constituencies as per provisional results. Main opposition MDP lost major strongholds; PNC gained support from Male, Addu, and Kulhudhuffushi. Turnout was 72.96%, the lowest under the new constitution.
