Rasfannu swimming area reopens following repair works
The Rasfannu swimming area reopened to the public on Friday following completion of repair and restoration works. Parts had been closed since April for maintenance. The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure said the swimming area reopened from Friday morning. The restoration project was carried out by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). Works included installation of pipes to improve water circulation and upgrades to the drainage system. Maintenance in other sections remains ongoing. Rasfannu is managed by the Malé City Council. The restoration programme followed public concerns. In February last year, President Mohamed Muizzu said efforts would be undertaken to restore Rasfannu and Sultan Park, both developed during former President Abdulla Yameen's administration when Muizzu served as Housing Minister.
