Missing man seen jumping from bridge, police say

The Maldives Police Service confirmed that CCTV footage shows a man reported missing earlier this month jumping into the sea from the Sinamale’ Bridge. The individual is 30-year-old Hassan Yaameen of G. Garnet, reported missing on 14 July. He was last seen on 11 July. CCTV analysis revealed footage of Yaameen jumping from the bridge at 3:24 am on 13 July. Search efforts are ongoing, with Marine Police and MNDF Coast Guard working jointly to locate him. Police urged the public not to circulate false information and to rely only on official statements to respect the family and protect the investigation.

Worker on bridge injured in motorcycle collision

A worker on the Sinamale Bridge was injured in a motorcycle collision on Thursday night at 9:35pm. The motorcycle hit the man working on the Hulhumale-Male lane. The driver, a 49-year-old male, was also injured. Both were taken to IGMH. The worker is a 30-year-old Bangladeshi man. Police did not disclose injury details.

Car Catches Fire on Sinamale’ Bridge

A car driving from Male' to Hulhumale' caught fire on Sinamale' Bridge near the Hulhule' side traffic light. No casualties were reported.
